Doll, Omolangidi Yoruba, Nigeria
Sold
Beautiful Omolangidi Yoruba, the stylized body in the shape of a two-sided ax fully adorned with incised geometric patterns. The head emerges in the round on a thin sloping neck, surmounted by a cap in tri-lobed bolster. The face, of a very beautiful presence, opens on wide blinking eyes, the cheeks marked with deep gashes indicating belonging to a noble family. Very beautiful shiny nuanced brown patina on the reliefs, with traces of camwood in the hollows of the engraving, resulting from numerous ritual manipulations.
