Fon Hohovi, pair of twins, Benin

Beautiful and very old pair of Hohovi statuettes made at the birth of twins. The faded facial features show that they have been the subject of a lot of grooming over several generations. The beauty of these figures characterized by a strong sculpture is exalted by a deep shiny brown patina.
