Magnificent neckrest for men, cut in a single block, it has two large feet that meet at the level of the concave platform. The feet are engraved with great precision with animal motifs. Cattle are very important to the Turkana, it is a source of livelihood, prestige and status. These engravings are not just simple ornaments, they are an expression of Turkana art and values. Like most neckrests in the region, it has a leather strap for transport.
A rich honey patina on the different parts of this piece is the result of repeated handling.
