Statuette Bena Lulua, Democratic Republic of Congo
500€
Charming figurine which represents a standing figure, the sculpture treated in a succession of short cubist volumes. The large face is dominated by an angular nose and chin, diamond-shaped eyes, surmounted by a conical cap. The pelvis draws an abstract and plump volume with the buttocks. The delicate bluntness of the umbilicus and the chest, the shoulders stretched back by the comma arms, form the counterpoint.
La belle patine d’usage miel et brune ravivée par la poudre de tukula, montre l’ancienneté ainsi que l’utilisation fréquente et rituelle de cette statuette.
